Christianity Explored is our ministry for anyone who wants to investigate Christianity in an informal setting with a small group of people. Everyone is welcome - from the most sympathetic Sunday schooler to the convinced atheist to someone from a different religion. We will respect your background, culture and beliefs. Whether you have previous experience with church or none at all, this is for you! We offer two courses: Christianity Explored and Discipleship Explored. · Christianity Explored is a 10-week course designed to "let the Gospel tell the gospel." We open and explore Mark’s gospel and look at who Jesus is, what His aims, are and what it means to follow Him. · Discipleship Explored picks up where Christianity Explored left off. It is an 8-week course through the Apostle Paul’s letter to the Philippians, examining his extraordinary claim, "For me to live is Christ and to die is gain." |

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Nothing! We'll enjoy warm hospitality at the home of a couple from our church. The course is run in groups of 6-12 people. After briefly discussing the course material from the week before, there is a talk on the theme for that week. Then the groups discuss any questions that have arisen.
Christianity Explored is 10 weeks. The course includes an optional day-long retreat (usually on a Saturday) when we explore other areas such as the Bible, the Holy Spirit, prayer and the church. Of course! No, all course materials are provided. We hope not. It's not a church service. There's no praying, singing or clapping, and you won't be asked to read aloud.
Each evening includes a talk designed to explain an aspect of Christian belief and to stimulate discussion. Hopefully you'll find it challenging and amusing. The group leaders will facilitate discussion and try to answer questions.
Not if you don't want to. You are welcome to come and just sit and listen. Why is the course run? Christians count it a real privilege to explain the truth and relevance of the Christian message. We don't have all the answers but believe that we have exciting news to share about Jesus Christ. |
