God created you for a purpose - to worship Him and enjoy a personal relationship with Him through Jesus Christ.  There is no other way!  Jesus made this claim for Himself: I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me (John 14:6). 

God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, who lived on Earth, suffered punishment, and died on a cross to pay for your sins. Three days later, He rose from the dead.  This is what we call the gospel. 

We aren't Christians because our parents are Christians or because we were baptized and grew up in the church.  Each of us must believe and accept Christ for ourselves, on His terms, just as He is presented in Scripture.   

Below is a brief summary of the gospel.  It explains, according to the Bible, how you can become a Christian.

1.    Every one of us disobeys God in some way (we call this disobedience 'sin').  Sin separates us from God.

But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.

– Isaiah 59:2

2.     This separation results in death and judgment.

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

– Romans 6:23

He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.  They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the majesty of his power.

3.     There is a solution – the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ!

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

– Romans 5:8

For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit.
